A Cabinet Secretary that used to work under the Jubilee administration that was under the patronage of the fourth President Uhuru Kenyatta has landed himself in trouble over a tender that he awarded a few years ago when he was still in office.
It has been indicated that the duo of former Cabinet Secretary James Macharia and the then managing director of Kenya Railways are in a spot after they unlawfully awarded a tender to a firm linked to the former governor of Mombasa honorable Hassan Joho.
This comes just a few weeks after the government decided to break the monopoly of Joho’s cargo firm by nominating three companies to handle the cargo that will be heading to South Sudan from the port of Mombasa.
Macharia now becomes the latest civil servant from Uhuru’s administration to be taken to task over the decisions he made in docket that he was appointed to serve in.
