The high court has today ruled that the chief administrative secretaries’ positions that were created by the president are unconstitutional.
The Kenya kwanza administration had added twenty-seven chief administrative secretaries in a way that was seen as a reward to his allies.
The Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration had created the positions against the court ruling.
The seven-judge bench has today ruled against the Kenya Kwanza Alliance administration for creating positions that contravene the constitution.
While reacting to the news, the former presidential aspirant and third-way alliance party, Hon Ekuro Aukot welcomed the ruling.
The constitutional lawyer laughed off the already-appointed chief administrative cabinet secretaries.
There has been opposition to the additional 27 chief administrative secretaries positions. The Azimio La umoja one Kenya alliance coalition had claimed that the positions were worsening the economy.
The ball is now on the president’s side to see if he will obey the court order or not.
