Irungu Nyakera who is a close ally of President William Ruto and who was recently appointed as the board chair of KEMSA has hinted that a handshake is loading between Maina Njenga and President William Ruto’s led camp.

“Kenya is happy. Handshake loading. Say goodbye to maandamano.” Irungu Nyakera wrote.

Maina Njenga has been at loggerheads with the state after he was accused of trying to ressurect outlawed Mungiki sect,an allegation that he has denied.

He was also arrested in the eve of the last demos where the state accused him of having rungus, swords, jembe sticks believed to have been planned to be used to breach peace.

Maina Njenga has been on the camp of Azimio La Umoja -One Kenya Alliance and had attended several of their functions.

He was seen as a possible challenger to the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Mt. Kenya kingship status after the retirement of Ex President Uhuru Kenyatta.
