After signals of political seclusion for Martha Karua, the Narc-Kenya party, started to appear, trouble may be brewing inside Raila Odinga’s Azimio camp.
Although Karua holds a significant position in the coalition, recent exclusions from important political activities and conflicts within the coalition have prompted concerns about her political future.
Taifa Leo daily says that despite being Raila Odinga’s running mate in the general elections held on August 9th of last year, Ms. Karua has not been actively participating in crucial political activities inside Azimio.
Ms. Karua’s exclusion from the Azimio committee taking part in the ongoing Reconciliation Talks at Bomas, Nairobi, provided the first sign of her apparent political isolation.
Given her important position within the alliance, many anticipated that Raila Odinga would name her to lead the Azimio delegation. Kalonzo Musyoka, the head of the Wiper Party, was chosen by Odinga to be the delegation’s leader, surprising many in the process.
