Digital content creator and influencer Corazon Kwamboka has disclosed that she is back to practicing law after a long hiatus.

In addition, Kwamboka revealed that she would be offering pro bono services for the rest of the year, promising to share details on how she can be reached.

“You’re looking at the newest Certified Practice Mediator (CPM) from MTI! Over the last 40 hours, I completed a course to become a certified mediator.

“Now that you know, for the rest of the year, I’ll be taking on pro bono cases. I’ll share details on how to reach me if you have an issue or conflict that needs assistance,” she disclosed.

Mediator

In the quest to be a game changer in the judicial system, the mother of two attributed her decision to be a certified mediator to overcrowded, unresolved, and prolonged cases in the courts. Adding that people need alternative methods that are cost-effective to access justice.

“You might be wondering why. Our courts are overcrowded, and cases can take years to resolve. Justice delayed is justice denied. People need alternative resolution methods to access justice in a cost-effective, less adversarial, and quicker way. That’s where we mediators come in. I wanted to be one of the changemakers to help more people access justice,” Corazon revealed.

Law practice

On October 8, 2024, Kwamboka, during an interview with Oga Obinna, said sexual harassment from her bosses and superiors in different workplaces pushed her to stop practising law despite being an advocate of the High Court.

“It is not something that I liked, but there are other things that pushed me towards not practising.

“This is something most girls, especially curvy girls, go through; this is the experience I had, so napata kazi mahali, then the boss na director wote wanataka kukukatia. Friday simu zinapigwa. I had that experience three times in the places that I have worked.”

“Imagine you have earned yourself a place in that work. You haven’t gone there because you have a big booty and you want me to bend over. I have always been that person. I don’t take favours, I don’t exchange sex for favours or sex for a job or anything.

“I don’t exchange myself for anything because it is something that I despise. I love myself. I cannot offer my body in exchange for something or flavour,” she disclosed.

The influencer further stated that even though she has not practised law for a long time, she is still a professional lawyer and an advocate of the High Court with a valid practising certificate, and she can still defend someone in court when need be.

“But I’m still a lawyer, an advocate of the High Court, and my practising certificate is very valid; wewe sai ukishikwa na kama huna mtu wakupigia call me, and I will go and defend you. Whatever case, I can represent you,” Corazon noted.

Corazon Kwamboka has studied law at the University of Nairobi.
