Digital content creator and influencer Corazon Kwamboka has for the first time revealed reasons as to why she does not practise law despite being an advocate of the High Court.
Speaking during a live interview with Oga Obinna, Corazon disclosed that sexual harassment from her bosses and superiors in different workplaces pushed her to stop practising law.
Additionally, the fitness fanatic added that having studied law at the University of Nairobi, completed and passed, law was not something she liked.
“It is not something that I liked but there are other things that pushed me towards not practising,” Corazon said.
“This is something most girls especially curvy girls go through, this is the experience I had so napata kazi mahali then the boss na director wote wanataka kukukatia Friday simu zinapigwa. I had that experience in three times in the places that I have worked.”
The mother of two went on to say that it was unfair to experience such having rightfully earned the position adding that she respects and values herself and she can not stoop that low in exchange for a job or favours.
“Imagine you have earned yourself a place in that work you haven’t gone there because you have a big booty and you want me to bend over,” she added.
“I have always been that person I don’t take favours, I don’t exchange sex for favours or sex for a job or anything I don’t exchange myself for anything because it is something that I despise, I love myself I cannot offer my body in exchange for something or flavour.”
The influencer further stated that even though she has not practised law for a long time, she is still a professional lawyer and an advocate of the High Court with a valid practising certificate.
Corazon added that she can still defend someone in court when need be.
“But I’m still a lawyer, an advocate of the High Court, and my practising certificate is very much valid, wewe sai ukishikwa na kama huna mtu wakupigia call me and I will go and defend you. Whatever case I can represent you,” Corazon noted.
Transitioning to Socialite
The influencer further attributed the sexual harassment she experienced at the workplace to her transition from practising law.
Additionally, Corazon stated that back then she admired Vera Sidika’s lavish lifestyle as a socialite and she decided to venture into that field.
“So after it happened to me two or three times nikaenda kwa Boaz kupiga picha. I trended and I was okay. Saa hiyo tulikuwa tunalook up to kwa kina Vera and you see they are living a good life and I was like let’s give it a try,” she revealed.
