Coast MP Claims What Azimio Lawmakers Have Been Secretly Telling Kenya Kwanza Alliance to do

The Deputy majority leader in the National Assembly Owen Baya now claims that the lawmakers allied to the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance camp have been reaching out to them in Kenya Kwanza Alliance, begging them to talk to the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Thursday in an interview with Citizen TV, the Kilifi North MP alleged that Azimio MPs expressed their concerns with the anti-government protests which were called by Raila weeks ago.

“Every time I meet the leadership of Azimio and leaders in parliament, they always tell us they are tired with Raila, the anti-government protests and that we should talk to him. That is a fact and they know.”

“I want to assure them that we will talk to him so that even you Azimio leaders get a reprieve because you have ‘eaten’ teargas for a while, and you have been forced to make contributions to support the maandamano. We will talk to Mzee. We have formed our team for the talks,” said the UDA MP.

He went on to dismiss the Azimio’s bold stand that the 10-member committee for the fresh talks must discuss on the high cost of living, saying the Kenya Kwanza government has a plan in place which is now being implemented to reduce the cost of living.

Speaking during the same interview, Kitutu Chache South MP Antony Kibagendi argued that the Kenya Kwanza team had fronted hardliners in their team since they know they have lost touch with the people who are complaining about the high cost of living.

Those in Kenya Kwanza team include Kimani Ichung’wah, Aaron Cheruiyot, Catherine Wambilianga, Cecily Mbarire and Hassan Omar.

Azimio will be represented by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Okong’o Omogeni, Opiyo Wandayi and Amina Mnyazi.
