The series of arrests that have befallen government critics in the recent days has continued to receive wide condemnation from different personalities all claiming that the state agencies are being weaponised to fight the opposition.
Now jumping into the conversation, city based flamboyant advocate Donald Kipkorir has thrown his weight on the matter alleging that they’re might be more than what the fourth estate and the public knows.
In an elaborative tweet the lawyer indicated that before the promulgation of the 2010 constitution, things were different that Director of Public Prosecutions was a political lapdog and a puppet of the police.
He scaled down to say that police in civilian clothes were used to plant drugs, seditious pamphlets and guns on government opponents. This was a vicious efforts by the then governments to tame their opponents and make them in a way submitt to it’s calls.
” Before 2010 Constitution, Director of Public Prosecutions was a political lapdog & puppet of the Police .. Police in civilian clothes then planted drugs, seditious pamphlets (mwakenya) & guns on government opponents … 2010 ushered new Dawn: or so we thought!” Korir posted
Now as he alleges the then vicious cycle might have a rebirth with the arrests of various opposition affiliated persons including Babu Owino Pauline Njoroge Maurice Ogettah and others.
In Pauline’s case her arrest was indicated that the car she was found to be having narcotics and a futher investigation revealed more of the drugs were found at her residence.
