“You asked for it, and here it is! After countless requests for me to move from sports to main news, I’m proud to announce my debut as the lady anchor for the Easy Friday Bulletin!” she announced before the show on her social media handles.

“Catch me every Friday, delivering the full news from start to finish. Your support got me here, so let’s make this journey together!”

Kibbett appreciated the feedback she received from her followers who congratulated her on the elevated role, which will see her be a regular feature every Friday at 9 pm.

“Thank you John Kago for making me feel so comfortable during my first day anchoring the Easy Friday Bulletin. Your support and guidance truly helped me ease into the role, and I’m grateful for your kindness and encouragement,” she added.

In another statement, she was quick to note that she would still be continuing with her sports anchor role at the state-owned broadcaster every Monday to Friday, the expansion depicting her desire to venture into other fields in an ever-changing news environment.

Kibbett is a testament to how journalists of today are covering sectors outside their speciality as they expand their knowledge base and who knows…discover fields they never thought they would be so passionate about amidst the switch from regular news reporting to storytelling and niche content.

Other than her quite attractive looks, she is a celebrated media personality with awards to her name, which include the Best TV Personality of the Year and Best Journalist of the Year which she bagged at the Zikomo Africa Awards 2022 in Lusaka, Zambia.

She boasts a colourful career that includes interviews with sports personalities such as United States sprinter Justin Gatlin, South African footballer Siphiwe Tshabalala and Kenyan javelin star Julius Yego.

Nicknamed the Marakwet Express, Kibbett was previously at K24 TV up until June 2020 when she was among hundreds of journalists who were laid off by Mediamax Networks, which owns the station, in a controversial move that swept clean its entire newsroom.

In June 2021, she returned to TV screens after unveiling her show dubbed #InsideSports aired via her YouTube Channel. In August of that year, KBC poached her following a massive rebranding in July 2021 in a bid to get back to its glory days.

Meanwhile, for Arora, she moved to TV47 in July having spent three years at KBC, and features regularly in two shows; Morning Cafe every weekday morning and Tribe 47 on Friday nights from 10 pm.
