The opposition leader, Raila Odinga, has convened a crisis meeting with allies as he warms up to the head of state, President William Ruto’s camp.
The ODM held their National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting today under the leadership of Raila Odinga and resolved as follows:

1. That the nomination of the following MCAs to the Kisumu County Assembly be revoked with immediate effect: Caroline Opar, Kennedy Ajwang, Peter Obaso, and Regina Kizito.

2. That Hon. Esther Passaris issue a written apology for voting against the party position on the Finance Bill 2023. On top of this, she’s been fined $250,000, to be paid within sixty days.
3. The following MPs have been deemed to have resigned from the party, and a process of removing them from the register of the party is to be commenced: Elisha Akuba (Gem), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Tom Ojienda (Kisumu), and Phelix Odiwuor Kodhe (Langata).
4. Mark Nyamita (Uriri) and Paul Abuor (Rongo) have been directed to issue a written apology within seven days and pay a fine of $1 million each within sixty days.
