The Azimio La Umoja One-Kenya coalition led by the opposition boss Raila Odinga is reportedly walking on its deathbed, just days to organized demonstrations set to begin on July 7th.
According to MPs affiliated to the coalition who spoke to Sunday Nation, the top leadership on Azimio is not united, considering the revelations made through the voting process on the 2023 Finance bill at the National Assembly.
It has emerged that majority of Legislatures in Azimio only fear Raila Odinga and can only answer to his calls, directives. On the fateful day when the Finance bill was to be voted at Parliament, several MPs in the coalition deliberately refused to vote in spite of calls from the Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi.
However, blames have been mounted on Wandayi, as they argue he had no plan on how to go about handling the bill apart from the public pronouncements made by Raila Odinga. This forced some MPs to fly out of the country as others showed disinterest in voting for the Finance bill.
Unlike the Kenya Kwanza side, the MPs have admitted that the massive cracks in Azimio are as a result of outright defiance and disorganization at the top leadership of the coalition.
