The ruling by three High Court judges on the appointment of 50 CASs by president William Ruto has sparked national debate with a section of leaders refuting the judgement, others have pledged to re-appeal the ruling with more others lauding the court for remaining true to the constitution.
In an interview with K24 on Tuesday, July 4, analyst Fred Ogola joined the ever increasing list of pundits who have shared their thoughts regarding the rule. In his discourse, Ogola lauded the ruling saying it has demystified the notion that Kenya Kwanza administration has captured the judiciary.Since his inauguration as the fifth president, Ruto’s administration has been working tandemly with the Judiciary an association that left many assuming that perhaps the government has captured the judiciary. Analyst Ogola told the panel the contrarian ruling made by judiciary despite of their close ties with Kenya Kwanza means that Kenyans have something to look up to.Ogola added that president Ruto will come to realization that he is not above the law and his activities should line with the constitution. Hitherto, the president has been dealt two huge blows with the suspension of 2023 Finance Bill being the heaviest. On Friday, June 30, High court suspended the application of the law on grounds it has constitutional shortfalls.
