A brand-new mode is coming to Fortnite that puts Sabrina Carpenter fans right in the middle of one of her concerts, and even lets you control the dancers and special effects.
You can never accuse Fortnite of standing idle, as the long-running battle royale is constantly evolving with new modes and crossovers. It now features modes for any mood, whether you want frantic building, a more traditional BR experience, or a relaxed rhythm game featuring the world’s biggest artists.
The current Festival season is all about Sabrina Carpenter, with players able to unlock a host of Jam Tracks, cosmetics, and even skins inspired by the Espresso singer. Now, Epic has taken things one step further by announcing a new mode that drops you straight into one of her shows.
“Dance With Sabrina” mode coming to Fortnite
Dance With Sabrina comes to Fortnite on May 30, where you’ll be transported to a Carpenter concert on a custom-made map. As she starts to perform one of her biggest songs, such as Espresso or Bed Chem, you’ll have to keep up with the beat by pressing buttons in time.
Doing this well enough earns one of three jobs: Dance Leader, Special Effects Pro, or Video Artist.
As the Dance Leader, you can choreograph the backup dancers by performing Emotes for them to match. If you’re the Special Effects Pro, you can “fire off visual effects to match the vibe,” with bigger fireworks being awarded for perfect timing.
Lastly, if you’re promoted to Video Artist, you can change the look and feel of the stage itself, allowing you to create a unique spectacle for yourself and everyone else in the lobby.
At the end of each song, the roles will be shuffled around so that anyone who hasn’t had a chance to join in gets their time in the limelight. Once the performance has come to an end, the player who kept time most consistently is rewarded with a picture next to Sabrina on the final screen.
If you’re a fan who wants to see a Carpenter show from an entirely new perspective, or just want a break from the usual BR action, you can find Dance With Sabrina from the Discover tab of the main menu. You’ll have to be quick, though, as the mode is only available from May 30 to June 16.
