Ignite your Energy Sword and load your Spartan Laser because Halo is back, baby! To prepare audiences for Halo Season 2, Paramount+ is making all episodes from the debut season available for free on YouTube! In addition to making all nine episodes of the show’s first season available to everyone with an internet connection, Paramount says the Halo Season 2 premiere date lands on February 8, 2024.

Halo stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century and the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity. In addition to Schreiber, Halo stars Natasha McElhone, Jen Taylor, Bokeem WoodbineShabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, and Danny Sapani.

Despite setting a record as the most-watched series premiere on Paramount+, reactions to Halo were mixed. While some reviewers praised the show’s aesthetics and action, others felt it borrows too much from shows like The Expanse and The Mandalorian. Our own Alex Maidy reviewed Halo before its debut. Alas, he wasn’t much of a fan, saying, “the first two episodes of this series feel about as far from the video game as possible while teasing the potential to someday get there. A show like this will only work with character development and lots of narrative exposition, but that only can be forgiven if it is at all interesting.”

Nevertheless, Paramount+ is confident Halo Season 2 can bring fans back to the fold and welcome new ones. Uploading the first season to YouTube is a fantastic way to introduce the sci-fi series to wider audiences, especially when the Halo Season 2 premiere date is approaching. Additionally, a two-month lead-in is plenty of time for people to familiarize themselves with the conflicted world of Halo.

Are you a fan of Paramount’s Halo series? Are you looking forward to the show’s return in February? Does the show do an excellent job of adapting the source material? What do you think about Paramount releasing all nine episodes of the first season on YouTube? Let us know in the comments below!
