Tech YouTuber Marques ‘MKBHD’ Brownlee has shared his thoughts about the Switch 2 and pointed out one of his favorite upgrades on the new hybrid console.
Nintendo has finally released the Switch 2, and day-one reviews have already made their way to YouTube thanks to some of the platform’s biggest creators.
Among those creators is Marques Brownlee, who uploaded his unboxing video right at midnight on the console’s launch day, June 5.
In that video, he shared his thoughts about the Nintendo Switch 2 and pointed out one of his favorite parts about the new device.
MKBHD really likes the new Joy-Cons
After he unboxed the Switch 2 and compared it with the original console, Brownlee jumped into playing Mario Kart World in tabletop mode with the Joy-Con 2’s detached from the screen.
Seconds later, he shared his thoughts about the new, bigger controllers. “That is fun,” he said. “These Joy-Cons are so much better than the old ones.”
He went on to try playing the game with just one of the Joy-Cons, something you would do if you were playing with another person.
“I feel like these new Joy-Cons are almost as much of an upgrade as the new screen,” he said. “Just having these huge new buttons, the whole thing being bigger, ergonomically it’s better, the haptics are better. It is much better to game on an individual controller with the new ones.”

Brownlee plans on going more in-depth with the Switch 2 and all the accessories in a second video, but didn’t give a timeframe on when fans should expect it to go live.
Among the games available for the Switch 2 already is Welcome Tour, a tutorial-like game that lets you go through various tasks to try out all of the console’s new features.
The game’s 6-8 hours of entertainment earn its $10 price tag, but the need for expensive accessories to complete it properly takes away some of the excitement.
