Love Island USA reveals Yulissa Escobar’s sudden exit before fans vow to “vote her out”

If you watched Love Island USA Season 7 Episode 2 and thought somebody was missing, you’d be right. Yulissa Escobar made a quiet exit overnight, but what actually happened?

Our new cast is searching for love and competing for the $100,000 cash prize. Based on the popular UK series of the same name, they each must compete in challenges that test their relationships alongside the arrival of “bombshells,” threatening any existing couples.

We’ve kicked off this year with 12 singletons entering the famed villa, but that number has already reduced after just two episodes.

The missing face is Yulissa Escobar, a 27-year-old real estate and hospitality worker from Miami, Florida. But why has she already been kicked off the binge-worthy TV show, and why did fans want to “vote her out” beforehand?

Why was Yulissa Escobar “dismissed” from Love Island USA?

Yulissa had come under fire online as Love Island USA Season 7 began to air after two old podcast clips surfaced, revealing the use of racial slurs. The clips spread across social media during the season’s launch show, where she can be heard using the N-word multiple times while discussing past relationships.

Surprisingly, the show itself only briefly addressed her exit about 18 minutes into Season 7 Episode 2, with narrator Iain Stirling merely saying, “Yulissa has left the villa.” No further context or explanation was given.

It isn’t exactly clear when Yulissa would have been removed from the villa, but it’s speculated that her exit would have happened during the contestants’ first night there. She hasn’t publicly addressed her removal since the episode aired, nor has she been active on any social media platforms.

Yulissa was originally coupled up with fellow contestant Ace Greene. He’s now one of the villa’s “singles.”

Fans vowed to “vote her out” before sudden exit

Before any news outlets reported on the podcast clips, fans had caught wind of them circulating online, with many vowing to “vote her out” before she was able to progress any further in the competition.

“’Welcome back to Love Island USA. Yulissa has left the villa’ LMFAOOOOOOOOO yes just announce it and move on… that one episode she was in was enough,’” one fan reacted to her exit on X/Twitter.

Another weighed in, “’YULISSA HAS LEFT THE VILLA’ and we didn’t even have to vote her out! Austin you next!”

“Never watched Love Island but I want to just so I can vote Yulissa out,” a third said before her exit was revealed.

The conversation continued on Reddit, with one fan musing, “Love Island producers are so deeply unserious casting someone with this bad of a digital footprint. This is the second video to resurface in just a few days, who knows what we’ll find in a week”

The show itself hasn’t provided any further details about Yulissa’s exit, and also hasn’t confirmed whether it was linked to the podcast clips themselves.
