League of Legends update 25.12 early patch notes bring Rammus rework

LoL’s 25.12 patch preview is here, with the big pull being some huge shifts to Rammus aimed at making him a more viable jungler who’s about more than just countering basic attack champions.

There are, of course, many other changes planned. Phroxzon has released a full preview detailing which champions will get changed, with this update being pointed exclusively at champion changes so far. After 25.11’s magic item-focused patch, the devs are honing in on champ balance ahead of MSI 2025.

There are a ton of jungle-focused updates, ones meant to bring characters like Lee Sin and Nidalee back into the meta ahead of MSI. After all, these are some of the most fun and skill expressive jungle champions to watch. It should come as no surprise that Riot wants to put them in a better spot before one of the year’s biggest internationals.

Base Stats

  • Base AD increased: 55 >>> 65
  • AD growth per level: 2.75 >>> 3
  • Base armor reduced: 40 >>> 35
  • Armor growth per level reduced: 5.5 >>> 4.5
  • Base attack speed increased: 0.656 >>> 0.7

Passive: Spiked Shell

  • No longer grants on-hit magic damage
  • Now grants bonus AD equal to 15% bonus resistances

Q: Powerball

  • Base damage increased: 80-200 >>> 80-240

W: Defensive Ball Curl

  • Rammus’ old passive is now built into this ability
    • Deals 10 (+10% total resistances)
      • This is a buff, damage only scaled with armor before
  • Base armor reduced: 40 >>> 25
  • Armor scaling reduced: 35-75% >>> 35-65%
  • Base magic resist increased: 10 >>> 25
  • Magic resist scaling increased: 30-50% >>> 35-65%
  • Duration increased: 6 seconds >>> 7 seconds
  • Basic attacks no longer extend this ability’s duration

E: Frenzying Taunt

  • No longer grants attack speed
  • Now deals 80-160 (+70% AP) to monsters upon ability use

R: Soaring Slam

  • Base damage increased: 100-250 >>> 100-350
  • Shockwaves no longer deal damage
  • No longer deals up to 50% bonus damage in th ecenter
  • Slow increased: 15-20% >>> 30-60%
  • Slow duration now refreshed by shockwaves instead of increased
  • Cooldown adjusted: 90 seconds >>> 120-80 seconds
