A comedian and adult children’s book author nailed his first appearance on Kill Tony, earning one of Tony Hinchcliffe’s coveted Golden Tickets in the process.
Kill Tony is one of the most popular comedy podcasts in the world. Live from Austin, Texas, the show lets amateur comedians show off their best jokes in one minute sets followed by interviews with Hinchcliffe and other professional comics.
If a comedian is really impressive, however, appearing on Kill Tony can be a life-changing experience. For those who knock it out of the park, Hinchliffe will award them with a ‘Golden Ticket’ – a pass to perform on Kill Tony shows without needing the luck of their name getting pulled out of a bucket.
On May 26, a comedian named Charlie Mac made his debut on the show and left the panel in stitches, especially when he called for his children’s books to be brought out.

After a successful one minute set that got the audience rolling, Mac moved onto the interview phase, where he immediately hit it off with Tony and special guest Carrot Top.
Four minutes in, Mac revealed that he’s an author of adult children’s books and wanted to show them off.
“I make children’s books for adults,” he said, catching Tony’s attention. “And I brought you guys some. Bring the books out!”
Immediately, Tony and Carrot Top were impressed with the books, one of which was titled ‘Man, f**k them kids,’ and the other, ‘Lay your ass down and shut the f**k up.’
Mac instructed Hinchcliffe to read the first page on the former, and the show’s host instantly died laughing at the contrast between the adorable pictures and the words.
Just moments later, Tony decided to give Mac a Golden Ticket and instructed him to go upstairs and perform a longer set to see if he could become a full-time comic at the Comedy Mothership.
Mac’s viral appearance was so successful that his own website ended up crashing, preventing fans from being able to purchase his books.
With the Golden Ticket, it’s likely that we’ll end up seeing Charlie Mac on Kill Tony again very soon – and who knows, he may even get a shot to perform on the next KT Netflix special.
