Job Description

Job Summary:

We are actively recruiting for a HSE Superintendent. As the HSE Superintendent, you will have the unique opportunity to join our client’s dedicated team and play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing health, safety, and environmental risks and opportunities within their projects.

Working closely with the HSE Manager and various project teams, you will lead and supervise a team of field safety supervisors and officers.

Your expertise will be critical in ensuring compliance with HSE standards, conducting audits and inspections of subcontractor activities, and providing guidance to enhance subcontractors’ HSE performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily supervision and support to a team of field safety supervisors and safety officers.
  • Support and assist the Site HSE Manager and Deputy in their responsibilities.
  • Review subcontractor HSE documentation and ensure its compliance before approving works.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of subcontractor activities, preparing detailed reports on findings.
  • Assist subcontractors in enhancing their HSE performance through guidance and support.
  • Review daily inspection reports and produce regular summaries of findings.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly HSE reports as requested by the HSE Manager.
  • Report any HSE-related problems to the Site HSE Manager promptly.
  • Collaborate with the HSE Manager and Construction counterpart to develop specific HSE plans and objectives for your area of responsibility.
  • Implement the agreed HSE plans and objectives in coordination with the Construction counterpart.
  • Participate in routine meetings with subcontractor construction and HSE staff to provide valuable input and maintain efficient communication channels.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Health, Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience in a supervisory or management role within the HSE sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE regulations, practices, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a safety-oriented culture.
  • Experience in conducting audits and inspections, producing detailed reports, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in producing HSE reports and summaries.
  • Familiarity with project management principles is advantageous
