Position Overview: World Vision Kenya is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Manager to lead the Somalia Resilience Program (SomReP). The role involves working alongside the Chief of Party to ensure effective planning, coordination, and management of the donor-funded program aimed at strengthening livelihoods, improving self-reliance, and preventing displacement. The Program Manager will oversee the delivery of on-time, high-quality interventions, ensuring integration and coordination among consortium members and implementing partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management & Coordination
- Develop and manage the detailed implementation plan (DIP) and procurement plan, ensuring timely and quality delivery of program interventions.
- Coordinate technical approaches and integrate them across the consortium, while identifying challenges and elevating issues to leadership.
- Work with regional and field teams to ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and adaptation of interventions in Somaliland, Puntland, Jubaland, and South West States.
- Quality Programming & Reporting
- Lead the program’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of program outcomes and donor deliverables.
- Support partners in identifying successes and challenges at the household and cohort levels, promoting a culture of accountability and learning.
- Ensure the program’s risk management processes are followed, identifying and mitigating risks as they arise.
- External Engagement & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with government agencies, donors, and stakeholders to coordinate program activities and resolve challenges.
- Represent the program at UN, government, and donor coordination mechanisms, advocating for the program and sharing best practices.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration with other donor-funded projects and stakeholders to enhance the program’s impact.
- Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead and mentor a diverse team, including consortium partners and field staff, to achieve program goals.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, providing technical guidance and addressing performance issues as needed.
- Support the development of capacity-building plans and coordinate training efforts to strengthen the technical skills of staff and partners.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences or related disciplines).
- Additional qualifications in project management, humanitarian assistance, or international development are an advantage.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in international development, with a focus on gender, youth, and marginalized groups.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale, multi-sector programs, particularly with donors like DANIDA, SIDA, EU, SDC, or USAID.
- Strong background in managing inter-agency consortiums and working with diverse teams in complex environments.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging stakeholders at various levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with database management and reporting tools.
Working Environment: This is an office-based position, with frequent travel to field operation areas.
