Description: We are seeking a dedicated intern to join our Finance and Administration team. This position provides a dynamic learning environment within a diverse and efficient team, offering valuable experience in a fast-paced finance and administration unit. The selected candidate will be involved in several key areas, including accounts payable, cash management, inter-office payment settlement, document management, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Payable Function:
    • Processing cheques and online payments with proper documentation.
    • Monthly creditor reconciliations and resolution of pending items.
    • Collaborating with the Finance officer for bank reconciliation.
  2. Cash/Advance Settlement Management:
    • Processing cash requests and coordinating with bank tellers.
    • Allocation of balance sheet accounts relating to advances.
    • Managing corporate credit card expenses.
  3. Inter-office Payment Settlement System Operations:
    • Account allocation and reconciliation of inter-office payment settlement system accounts.
    • Ensuring timely payments through tracking and allocation.
  4. Document Management and Archiving:
    • Maintaining records of financial documents using tracking tools.
    • Ensuring proper filing, legibility, and condition of documents.
    • Retrieving information for internal and external requests.
  5. Administrative Roles:
    • Supporting events and facilities management.
    • Assisting with other administrative tasks as assigned.
    • Participating in finance review meetings and learning activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
  • CPA Level II upwards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software like SUN System.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages effectively.

Period and Location: This internship runs from May 2024 to October 31, 2024, at our Nairobi office, Kenya.
