We are seeking a Community Mobilizer for the THRIVE Project in Taita Taveta County. This role focuses on empowering communities through sustainable livelihood and resilience initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Implementation
- Coordinate the implementation of Empowered Worldview, Savings for Transformation (S4T), Local Value Chain Development, and other cross-cutting program activities.
- Prepare work plans, budgets, and progress reports for project interventions.
- Mobilize and register households for project activities.
- Collaborate with county governments and stakeholders for integrated project execution.
- Ensure compliance with Livelihood and Resilience (L&R) standards during implementation.
Technical Support
- Train and mentor households on Empowered Worldview and Household Economic Plans.
- Coach S4T groups on using digital tools like DreamSave applications.
- Facilitate market research on viable value chains and support community participation in identified interventions.
- Build capacity for farmer groups and partners in Climate-Smart Agriculture, post-harvest management, and value addition.
- Support the formation of producer groups and link them to market opportunities and micro-finance institutions.
Quality Assurance, Monitoring, and Reporting
- Train community champions on monitoring tools and ensure effective data collection.
- Monitor project progress and prepare detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Document lessons learned and success stories for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate baseline, end-line, and evaluation studies in collaboration with stakeholders.
Strategic Engagement and Networking
- Represent World Vision in local stakeholder forums at ward, sub-county, and county levels.
- Strengthen partnerships with government agencies and development partners for sustainable community impact.
- Facilitate linkages between savings groups, skills development institutions, and financial services.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Education: Diploma in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with communities in livelihoods, resilience, or food security projects.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in English (oral and written) and local dialects.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office and email systems).
- Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid driving license.
- Proven team player with excellent leadership and community capacity-building skills.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and understanding of gender and economic empowerment principles.
- Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision.
Additional Requirements

- Familiarity with the local context and ability to engage effectively with community stakeholders is essential.
