Victory Farms Hiring Processing Manager

Victory Farms Kenya is on track to be the largest producer of Tilapia in East Africa. We currently produce over 15k MT of fish per year ~ 35 Million pieces of fish. In this role, you will be a key member within the Victory Farms’ Operations team. You will report to our Farm Operations Director.

Your core responsibility will be to oversee the daily operations of our processing facility (~20 FTEs + 250 casual workers), by managing the processing team, ensuring that all processing targets are met or exceeded and that all processing activities comply with company policies and regulations. You will work closely with the harvesting and processing teams to achieve the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Oversight of the processing Plant
    • Delivering on production targets
    • Planning team work and schedules
    • Suggest improvement of current plant and processes in line with best in class practices and regulations
    • Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure
    • Oversee ice plant
    • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained
  • Health and Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Determining adequate quality control standards
    • Ensuring health and safety regulations are met throughout our operation
    • Management of any certification audits from authorities or customers
    • Ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance and improvement
    • Ensure processing facility is kept clean at all times
  • People Management
    • Providing leadership and coaching for members of the team
    • Supervisor work of junior staff
    • Organise regular training sessions with the teams

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • BSc in Production Management, Operations Management or Food technology, MSc is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience managing a food processing/production facility is preferred
  • Experience in fish processing a plus
  • Experience in the flower industry will be considered
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
