This post is in the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), Division of Conference Services (DCS). Under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Technical Services Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities
1. MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING
a) Conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on conference equipment and keeping an up-to-date Technical Log;
b) Logging, tackling and closing tickets within established benchmarks; Escalating tickets and liaising with ICTS or vendors for timely resolution.
c) Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base.
d) Undertake minor repairs and modifications to AV and ICT equipment;
e) Undertake fault finding and adjustment of equipment, including necessary replacements, installations and modifications;
f) Install, maintain, repair, refurbish and test broadcast and non-broadcast electrical equipment, including the inspection, testing and recording of results;
g) Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans and elevations;
h) Support in the security, handling and movement of scenery, equipment, materials and large and small props including dressing, ensuring reasonable measures are taken to prevent damage and theft and reporting loss or damage as promptly as possible
i) Liaising with the UNON Information and Communication Technology Section (ICTS) to ensure the underlying infrastructure and dependencies are operational.
