Duties
The Economic Assistant/Self-Help Coordinator works together with the Small Grants/Economic Assistant (LES) under the supervision of the USDH Economic Officer/Grants Officer to administer the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help grants program, and any other Department grant programs that may be allocated to the Economic Section.
The Economic Assistant is also responsible for information gathering and analytical reporting on a range of economic issues including: science and technology, digital innovation and cyber security, intellectual property rights, trade and investment, and anti-corruption programs. Must be able to obtain and hold a Secret security clearance for handling classified information. Supervised by Economic USDH.

Requirements :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Secondary School plus seven years of work experience in business, program management and/or analyzing economic developments is required.
OR
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Two years of college or university studies (no specific field required) plus five years of work experience in business, program management and/or analyzing economic developments is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE :
Working knowledge of Kenya’s economy and business environment. Education Requirements:

Ability to maintain a wide range of contacts in the host government and private sector.
Excellent writing and communication skills. Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Basic typing skills required.
Must be able to obtain and hold a Secret clearance.
