Key Responsibilities
As a Visa and Consular Affairs Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their travel and consular needs. You will work closely with the Visa Application Centre, liaise with applicants, and ensure the Embassy’s services operate smoothly and effectively. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assessing Visa Applications: Carefully assess visa applications, verifying the validity and authenticity of supporting documents, ensuring compliance with Belgian visa requirements, and making preliminary recommendations based on the provided information.
- Documentation Management: Handle documentation associated with visa fees and ensure that financial records are accurately maintained.
- Report Preparation and Filing: Compile visa-related reports, organize files, and maintain archives, ensuring all documentation is readily accessible and accurately filed.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with visa applicants and partners via email and phone, offering timely updates on visa processing status and answering any questions or concerns.
- Website Management: Regularly update the Embassy’s website to provide current information on visa processes, consular services, and relevant regulatory changes.
- Visa Application Centre Liaison: Coordinate with the Visa Application Centre to streamline processing and provide seamless service to applicants.
- Legal Document Processing: Manage legalizations and applications for Belgian travel documents, ensuring applicants receive the required consular assistance.
- Civil Registry and Assistance for Belgians: Handle civil registry files and assist Belgian nationals with various consular needs, enhancing their experience and addressing any concerns.
Requirements and Qualifications

- Gross Monthly Salary: KES 191,526.36, including benefits.
- Additional Benefits: 13th-month salary, 26 paid leave days, and health insurance coverage.
