Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute the Cancer Center’s strategic plan.
  • Identify emerging trends in cancer research and clinical trials to shape initiatives.
  • Foster partnerships in research and clinical trials.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with faculty, staff, patients, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with pharmaceutical partners to enhance clinical trial activities.

Administrative Leadership:

  • Oversee Cancer Center operations to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor administrative teams, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Design and evaluate programs in cancer research, clinical trials, and prevention.
  • Ensure initiatives align with the Center’s strategic goals.

Clinical Research Unit (CRU) Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction for the CRU.
  • Engage pharmaceutical sponsors to increase clinical trial acquisition.
  • Develop policies that ensure compliance, ethics, and quality in clinical research.

Strategy Execution:

  • Translate strategic plans into actionable projects with measurable outcomes.

Partnerships and External Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, research collaborators, and government agencies.
  • Represent the Cancer Center in institutional planning and community engagement.
  • Secure funding through grants and philanthropic efforts.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and risk mitigation strategies.

Leadership and Culture:

  • Foster a patient-centered, inclusive, and innovative environment for staff and faculty.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • PhD in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field, with at least 5 years of leadership experience in clinical research.
  • MD with clinical research experience and at least 5 years in a leadership role within a clinical research unit.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, with at least 8 years of senior leadership experience in clinical research.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or health-related field, with at least 10 years of strategic management experience in clinical operations, research, or trials.

Professional Expertise:

  • Proven success in strategic planning, administration, and operations within a clinical research setting.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of oncology care, clinical research, and trials.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
