Government of Kenya & World Bank Initiative: Technical Training Opportunities for Unemployed Youth, Project-Affected Persons, and Persons with Disabilities in Isiolo, Meru, Wajir, and Garissa Counties
The Government of Kenya, funded by the World Bank under the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project, is offering Technical Capacity Development Training to equip unemployed youth, project-affected persons, and persons with disabilities from Isiolo, Meru, Wajir, and Garissa Counties with valuable skills for increased employability and economic empowerment.
Program Overview
This initiative offers hands-on, craftsmanship-level training in key technical skills, hosted by leading institutions such as Nkabune Technical Training Institute, North Eastern National Polytechnic, Bishop Locati Training Institute, Sensei Institute of Technology, and Meru National Polytechnic. Trainees will acquire practical skills designed to meet current industry demands, helping them secure future employment opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) invites interested and eligible candidates to apply for this fully funded training program. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Age: Must be between 18 and 35 years.
- Education:
- KNEC-Certified Courses: Applicants should possess KCSE or KCPE certificates and have basic reading and writing skills.
- NITA-Certified Courses: No formal education qualifications are required. Applicants can apply regardless of educational background, provided they hold a valid Kenyan National ID.
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Isiolo, Meru, Wajir, or Garissa Counties.
- Course Selection: Applicants may apply for only one course at a single institution.
Preference will be given to orphans, individuals from single-parent families, and young single parents.
