The IT Assistant will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensure network functionality, and assist in IT projects, including basic programming tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support
- Provide prompt and effective technical support to users within the organization.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
2. Network Management
- Ensure the proper functioning of network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks.
- Design, configure, and maintain network services for existing and new devices.
- Perform L2 switching and L3 routing to enhance network efficiency.
3. System Maintenance
- Conduct regular checks on systems and prepare reports for the Head of Technology in line with company IT policies and procedures.
- Undertake assigned projects such as system upgrades, maintenance, and programming tasks.
4. Telephony System Management
- Configure and manage the organization’s telephony system, including onboarding new users and offboarding leavers.
- Conduct routine maintenance of telephony systems.
5. Security Administration
- Deploy and administer security services for information systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure 100% compliance with security policy standards.
6. Innovation and Resilience
- Design and implement new IT solutions to improve the resilience and efficiency of the information systems environment.
7. Collaboration
- Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers, and service desk engineers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Report on network operational status by gathering and prioritizing relevant information.
8. Other Responsibilities
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the company to support business goals and objectives.
What We’re Looking For
Requirements
- Education: BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-2 years in a fast-paced IT support environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven expertise in hardware and software troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills
- Networking and ITIL certifications (added advantage).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong desire to learn and improve.
