RECRUITMENT AGRI-PRENEURS/ ENUMERATORS         BUSIA COUNTY 

The Department of Smart Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Blue Economy and Agribusiness – Busia County, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) is pleased to announce the recruitment of Agricultural Value Chain actors (Supervisors & Agri-preneurs) at the County level for a period of one (1) month on a temporary basis.

CRITERIA FOR AGRI-PRENEUR SELECTION

Agri-preneurs/Enumerators (Four hundred and Thirteen (413) positions)

Requirements for Appointment are as follows:

  1. Must be between 20 – 35 years of Age with a national ID.
  2. Must be an active resident of the Ward in which the profiling exercise is being undertaken.
  3. Minimum academic qualification of a post-secondary qualification from a recognized institution, in Agricultural related field.
  4. Demonstrate some experience in Agriculture and Agri-business and interactions with             farmers
  5. Must own a smartphone and be computer literate.
  6. Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, English, and the local dialect in their locality.
  7. Ability and willingness to remain personally involved and committed on a full-time basis.
  8. Strong experience in community mobilization and training farmers on agricultural value chains.

The application should include; an application letter, copies of academic certificates, and a copy of the national identification Card.

CRITERIA FOR SUPERVISORS’ SELECTION

Requirement for Appointment of:

i)  Ward-Based Supervisors (Thirty Five (35) positions)

For appointment as a Ward-Based Supervisor, a candidate must possess the following:

  1. Minimum academic qualification of a Degree from a recognized University in Agriculture related field.
    1. Must be computer literate and able to use a tablet.
    1. Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, English, and Local Dialect.
    1. County Government staff/ civil servants in the County are encouraged to apply
    1. Should be currently working/ residing in the Ward that He/ She will be supervising.
    1. Participation in similar exercises. Experience in extension and data collection will be an added advantage.

ii)Sub County Supervisors (Seven (7) positions)

For appointment as a Senior Supervisor, a candidate must possess the following:

  • Minimum academic qualification of a Degree from a recognized University in Agriculture related field.
    • Must be computer literate and able to use a tablet.
    • Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, and English.
    • County Government staff/ civil servants in the County are encouraged to apply
    • Experience in personnel management, supervision, extension, and data collection is an advantage.
    • Participation in similar exercises will be an added advantage.
