Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KNRA) is a public entity established under Section 5 of the Nuclear Regulatory Act No. 29 of 2019, which commenced on 10th January 2020. The primary purpose of KNRA is to provide protection of persons and ensure the safe and secure use of nuclear energy and radiation sources in Kenya.

Currently, KNRA is seeking to fill two positions of Office Assistant (KNRA 10). These positions are permanent and pensionable, offering long-term employment benefits. The Office Assistant will work under the supervision and guidance of a senior officer, contributing to the smooth functioning of the organization.

Qualifications

To be eligible for appointment to this grade, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

i. Possess a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (plain) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
ii. Demonstrate proficiency in English and Kiswahili languages.
iii. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution, which includes integrity and ethical standards.

Duties

The duties and responsibilities of an Office Assistant at KNRA include:

i. Cleaning offices, machines, equipment, and apparatus to maintain a hygienic and organized work environment.
ii. Collecting and disposing of waste in a proper and environmentally friendly manner.
iii. Dusting offices regularly and ensuring habitable office conditions for all employees.
iv. Moving or carrying office equipment and furniture as required, ensuring orderly arrangement and dispatching letters.
v. Professionally and timely arranging meeting venues to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration.
vi. Keeping inventory of kitchen equipment and ensuring it is well-maintained.
vii. Preparing and serving office tea to staff members, maintaining a high standard of service.
viii. Performing various office and messengerial duties as assigned by superiors, contributing to the efficient operation of the organization.
