VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following position:
Position: Legal Clerk Assistant IV (CSG 13)
Vacancy No: 5/2024
Number of Posts: Thirty (30)
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
(a) Salary and Other Benefits:
- Basic Salary: Ksh 25,420 x 1,040 – 26,460 x 1,070 – 27,530 x 1,090 – 28,620 x 1,110 – 29,730 x 1,120 – 30,850 x 1,150 – 32,000 x 1,170 – 33,170 per month.
- Allowances:
- Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 per month
- House Allowance: As per region deployed
- Leave Allowance: Ksh 4,000 per annum
- Leave Entitlement: 30 working days per annum
(b) Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is the entry and training grade for this cadre, with the Legal Clerk Assistant IV working under the guidance of a senior officer. Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Recording and filing processes in registers
- Maintaining legal registers
- Serving documents issued by the courts
- Preparing returns/affidavits of service
- Managing the Legal Clerk movement register
- Ensuring court processes are served in compliance with legal requirements
- Executing warrants of arrest and enforcing court orders
(c) Requirements:
To qualify for appointment to the grade of Legal Clerk Assistant IV (CSG 13), candidates must possess:
- Educational Qualification: A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of C- (minus) or its recognized equivalent.
- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
- Computer Proficiency: A certificate of proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of Good Conduct: Issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
- Additional Advantage: Demonstrated competence in process service and a valid Process Server Certificate from the High Court of Kenya is an added advantage.
