Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Housekeeping Intern to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry while contributing to the cleanliness and comfort of our guests’ stay.

  • Clean and maintain assigned areas according to established standards and procedures
  • Ensure guest rooms and public spaces are properly stocked with necessary supplies
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries
  • Report any damages or malfunctions in rooms or hotel areas to the supervisor
  • Assist in laundry services as needed (e.g., delivering linens, handling laundry orders)
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations
  • Participate in training sessions to improve skills and knowledge
  • Support other departments as required to enhance overall guest experience
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Hospitality, Tourism, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of the hospitality industry
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift
  • Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and products
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing excellent service
  • Basic computer skills for logging and reporting tasks
