The National Council for Persons with Disabilities is a state corporation mandated to formulate and implement policies that integrate persons with disabilities into the national economy.
Position Details:
Disability Services Officer (2 Posts)
Salary Range: KES 45,179–60,280
Allowances:
- House: Based on deployment
- Commuter: KES 8,000
- Medical: As per Council’s scheme
Responsibilities:
- Oversee registration and targeting of persons with disabilities for grants, assistive devices, and education assistance.
- Conduct community validation, mobilization, and beneficiary enrollment.
- Supervise interns and clerks in their assigned tasks.
- Facilitate registration of PWD businesses and AGPO compliance.
- Train beneficiary groups on entrepreneurship and monitor project implementation.
- Organize disability awareness events at the county level and advocate for compliance with the 5% constitutional provision on disability representation.
- Provide technical support on disability mainstreaming and assist PWDs in accessing tax exemptions and employment recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
- Fulfillment of Chapter Six requirements of the Constitution.
