MURANG’A COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD
The Murang’a County Public Service Board invites applications from qualified and competent individuals to fill the following vacant position in the Department of Lands, Physical Planning, and Urban Development:
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Enforcing relevant statutory provisions related to valuation.
- Undertaking Stamp Duty valuations.
- Preparing and maintaining the Valuation Roll.
- Investigating valuation disputes and appeals.
- Generating, collecting, and remitting revenue from valuation services.
- Preparing valuation case briefs and responding to County Assembly queries.
- Attending courts and tribunals on valuation matters.
- Coordinating valuation of county assets across departments.
- Assessing ground rent during land subdivisions and alienations.
- Developing research proposals on emerging valuation trends and issues.
- Preparing reports on the impact of infrastructure projects on land values.
- Representing public sector valuers in the Valuers and Estate Agents Registration Board.
- Coaching and mentoring staff in the valuation department.
Requirements for Appointment:
To qualify for this position, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
- At least 18 years of experience, with 5 years in the Public Service.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, Property Studies, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s degree in Property Valuation, Estate Management, Real Estate, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Valuers Registration Board.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
