Money254 is Kenya’s leading personal finance media brand.
We publish articles, videos, infographics, explainers, reviews and how-to guides about financial products, concepts, tools and services to raise financial awareness and understanding among Kenyans.
Our mission is to enable consumers in Kenya to make better financial decisions by providing free access to high-quality financial literacy content tailored to their lived realities.

The Role
As an Editorial Intern, you will be responsible for assisting in a range of content production initiatives within Money254. Duties include tracking analytics for social media campaigns, creating social media posting schedules, producing short-form video content and writing captions for social media posts.
All interns will receive hands-on mentoring and training
Responsibilities
● Assisting in general editorial department duties
● Proofreading, fact-checking and editing articles to improve contents
● Prepping for and supporting team during daily and weekly original content premieres
● Maintaining editorial archives
● Researching, creating and editing video content as needed
● Pitching new ideas and sourcing content relevant to our audience
● Researching, designing and curating infographics for posts as needed
● Assisting with special projects, events, and social media marketing as needed
● Monitor social media activity, respond to comments and queries
Your Background and Interests
● You must have recently graduated or completed coursework for a degree in journalism or a related field, awaiting graduation.
● You have strong writing and communication skills
● You have working knowledge of social media management
● You are familiar with multi-social posting through programs such as Hootsuite and HubSpot
You have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
● You have working knowledge of Adobe Suite, Canva and related image & video editing software
● You have an interest in the online editorial field
● You have an ability to learn new tools, adapt, and remain up to date on company’s services, events, and capabilities
● You have high attention to detail and follow through
● You are intrinsically motivated by our mission to help Kenyans make the most of the money they have and are empathetically aware of the challenges many have getting access to and managing their personal finances today.
● You are a self-starter with a bias for action, eager to learn, maintain a positive attitude in the face of uncertainty, and are happy working autonomously while also contributing to and working within a growing internal Money254 team.
