Human Resource Officer

Main Duties

  •  Participating in determining short- and long-term human resource needs for the assigned Divisions
  •  Providing advisory services to line managers on human capital issues e.g. staffing levels, recruitment, deployment, discipline, performance management, training and development
  •  Ensuring Hospital staff practices are in line with policy and legislative requirements
  •  Executing the recruitment and selection process for assigned Departments
  •  Implementing terms and conditions of service e.g. medical cover, leave, group life and provident fund
  •  Providing guidance, counselling and advisory support to staff
  •  Enabling effective grievance handling and dispute resolution
  •  Participating in implementation of induction, orientation and training and development programs
  •  Working with line managers to implement change management programs
  •  Fostering harmonious employee and industrial relations
  •  Contributing to and participating in wider HR Department and other Hospital activities
  •  Ensuring that all HR related costs for assigned departments are within approved budget
  •  Maintaining up to date staff records
  •  Facilitating continual improvement of the Hospital’s HR policies and practices
  •  Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Social Sciences/ Human Resources
  •  Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management
  •  At least 2 years’ solid generalist experience in a busy Human Resources Department
  •  Experience in general HR processes, such as behavioral interviewing, candidate evaluation, employee relations, compensation and knowledge of current labor laws
  •  Effective advisory and influencing skills
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  •  Member of IHRM

Clinical Instructor

Main Duties

  •  Coordinating clinical presentations to assist students achieve critical thinking
  •  Preparing and implementing new students’ orientation program, to ensure quick settlement at the school and clinic
  •  Following students in clinical placements both internal and external
  •  Planning for and conducting theoretical and practical assessments for students.
  •  Assessing practical books regularly to establish the level of proficiency attained by the students in conducting procedures
  •  Produce and distribute course learning objectives as well as student’s schedule to the clinical facilities prior to student attendance at the facility
  •  Designing master rotations, assessment schedules or any other teaching and learning tool
  •  Communicating with the nursing department as necessary to resolve issues or concerns in the clinical areas
  •  Collaborating with colleagues to revise and evaluate course content and learning outcomes
  •  Discussing with students their concerns and/or problems directly or indirectly related to the learning experience
  •  Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required
  •  Any other duty assigned

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  KRN/KRM/KRN/M/KRCHN/BSCN
  •  Computer Proficiency
  •  Minimum 2 years of active classroom and clinical teaching in Nursing/Midwifery practice
  •  Registered with NCK with a valid practicing license
  •  Persons with specialization in KRCCN, KRNN, KRPON have an added advantage

Medical Officer

Main Duties

  •  Managing, stabilizing and treating all patients’ minor ailments and emergencies
  •  Assessing the urgency and severity of presenting problems through history taking, examination and investigation
  •  Admitting, discharging and referring to specialists as appropriate
  •  Referring for diagnostic, therapeutic and support services as required
  •  Undertaking clinical and minor procedures in the Accident & Emergency unit
  •  Participating in hospital rounds including fixing cannula, fixing catheters, reviewing patients, etc
  •  Ensuring that all patients coming to A&E department are attended to within reasonable time
  •  Participating in the ambulance Services.
  •  Preparing weekly work/activity plans for review by the Senior Medical Officer
  •  Carrying out patient reviews and providing feedback to the respective consultants.
  •  Monitoring closely morbidity and mortality trends together with all the other health indicators
  •  Participating in primary health care through counseling and outreach programs.
  •  Participating in continuous medical education programs
  •  Carrying out other relevant or requested duties as may be required
  •  Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required
  •  Any other duty assigned

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB)
  •  BLS, ACLS & ATLS Training
  •  Computer Proficiency
  •  Minimum 2 years as a Medical Officer
  •  Registered with KMPDC with a valid practicing license
  •  Previous experience in a busy Accident & Emergency unit will be an added advantage
