Human Rights Monitors will support KNCHR in monitoring human rights situations in Garissa, Mandera, and Wajir counties. They will gather and report information on human rights violations, focusing on community and state actors in these regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend mandatory training provided by KNCHR.
- Use provided monitoring tools to collect factual information on human rights violations.
- Follow up on reported violations and submit timely reports.
- Accompany KNCHR teams on planned and unplanned field missions.
- Submit a final report on human rights compliance in the assigned county.
Qualifications & Experience:
- KCSE Grade D+ and a certificate in a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in human rights, research, or social work.
- Resident of the assigned counties (Garissa, Mandera, or Wajir).
- Proficiency in local languages in addition to English and Kiswahili.
- Excellent communication and IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage local leaders and communities.
