Job Purpose
Under the guidance of the Assistant Systems Administrator, the ICT Intern will play a critical role in supporting the IT department’s administrative operations. This includes contributing to the success of departmental tasks and projects related to system and network infrastructure administration.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Area 1: System Administration
- Provide technical and operational support for application rollouts and other projects, including planning, implementation, and vendor coordination.
- Administer intranet, internet, network, and servers to ensure business effectiveness. Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise-level backups, including data, program tools, and IP telephony systems. Ensure company data security by implementing backups, installing antivirus software, and overseeing disaster recovery procedures. Coordinate preventive maintenance for ICT systems. Track and manage ICT assets to ensure accurate inventory and functionality.
Area 2: Helpdesk Services
- Offer first-tier support for resolving IT-related issues for end users. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair workstations and other ICT hardware and software. Participate in the rollout, installation, and support of new hardware and software technologies. Provide helpdesk support for workstations, handheld devices, and Microsoft Office applications .Manage helpdesk incident tickets, prioritize tasks, and escalate issues when necessary to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Record and document helpdesk requests to identify trends and propose effective interventions.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT-related fields such as Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, or BBIT. Additional ICT qualifications, such as:
- CompTIA Security, N, A Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Windows Server 2016–2020 and Windows Operating Systems. Knowledge of cloud storage concepts, hosted exchange, and hosted servers. Awareness of the latest ICT technology and compliance requirements.
