Switch Media Ltd is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual for the following position in the Digital & IT Department:

Position Title:      Senior Technical Director – Studio and OB

Reporting to:       Head of Production and Technology

Duties and Responsibilities

To coordinate and direct all studio and external multi-camera productions to international standards, operation of professional television broadcast equipment.

  • Determine, manage and coordinate the resources required to produce and direct studio productions that resonate with the standards and in the house style.
  • Ensure studio preparedness for all productions.
  • Liaise with creative producers on the level of creative input.
  • Direct live/recorded shows.
  • Operate all equipment in studio and on location e.g The Vision mixer.
  • Ensure well-managed schedules for production staff including annual leave management and weekly shift management.
  • Support switch media in achieving its mission through the continued delivery of outstanding, innovative content, across multiple genres and platforms.
  • Any other departmental roles as may be delegated by your supervisor.
  • Attend production and technology planning/departmental meetings.
  •  Draw up and manage studio production schedules in consultation with other stakeholders.
  • Prompt studio preparedness, one hour before any production.
  • Liaise with the producers on their products in advance before productions begin.
  • Ensure smooth studio and field operations; timely and apt studio and field setups, minimal technical errors during studio and field productions, proper handling of equipment, daily and weekly maintenance of all equipment.
  • Prompt submission of weekly reports.
  • Attend post production meetings and discuss challenges and find resolutions.
  • Carry out all converged roles seamlessly with minimal errors if any.

Qualifications, Work Experience and Skills required​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  • University Degree or Diploma in TV production/ Media Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of live studio production/directing.
  • Deep familiarity with live streams and entertainment production.
  • Knowledge of Television Technology.
  • Creative mind and highly organized.
  • Team management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Attention to details and ability to multi-task.
  • Thrive in a high-pressure environment.
