The Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) is a statutory institution whose mandate as a risk
minimizer is to provide a deposit insurance scheme for customers of member institutions and to
resolve any institution in respect of which the Corporation is appointed receiver or liquidator.

The Corporation enhances incentives for sound risk management and generally promote the stability
of the financial system.

KDIC was created by an Act of Parliament in May 2012 to replace the Deposit Protection Fund.

About the KDIC Youth Internship

The objective of the KDIC Youth Internship is to provide the youth with an opportunity to gain
practical experience in their respective fields and develop their ability to successfully take up
employment opportunities in the financial sector and other fields.

Suitably qualified and interested candidates from universities and colleges are hereby requested to apply for the opportunities tabled below.

Kindly note that successful candidates will be placed in the following Departments for a nonrenewable period of one (1) year/ twelve (12) months.

Basic Requirements

Applicants who will be invited for the vetting/interviews are expected to produce the following documents:

i. Proof of having graduated: Copies of Degree/Diploma Certificate or Academic
Transcripts;

ii. A copy of National Identification Card;
iii. Curriculum Vitae

Eligibility and duration of internship

Eligibility the persons eligible for this program shall meet the following requirements:
i. Be unemployed Kenyan graduates from recognized training institutions who have completed their degree courses within the last three years
ii. Have not been exposed to work experience related to their area of study;
iii. Be graduates of degree or diploma program;
iv. Not have retired or exited from formal employment;
v. Not have benefited from a similar program

Successful candidates shall be required to obtain the following:

i. A valid personal medical insurance cover by NHIF or other reputable medical insurance firm for the duration of the internship.
ii. Register with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF)for purposes of social security and shall be deducted the contributions to the fund.
iii. A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
iv. Have Personal accident insurance to cover for personal risks lasting for the duration of the internship.
v. Kenya Revenue Authority PIN
