Reporting to the KCB Foundation’s Head of Programs, the Senior Program Manager Education shall be responsible for the overall development and management of the KCB Scholars’ Program (the “Program”) strategy and execution of all Program activities across three Program clusters of high school scholarship, apprenticeship, and university scholarship.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development and Implementation: 

  • Design, develop, plan, and manage the Program and all related projects and activities in line with the Program workplans and KCBF Education Program strategy within the KCB Group subsidiaries in line with KCBF’s strategy and policies including safeguarding and data protection.
  • Oversight the high school scholarships cluster ecosystem with all its related processes and activities from recruitment, onboarding to full support during the student life in the school.
  • Oversight the administration of the apprenticeship cluster in collaboration with the Bank’s Human Resource Function.
  • Oversight the effective administration of the University scholarship cluster of the Program. 
  • Coordinate the mentorship interventions within the Program across the three clusters. Collaborate with the enterprise development teams to execute transition of identified high school graduates into KCBF’s enterprise development programs.

External Relations: 

  • Identify and manage relationships with Program stakeholders including schools, universities, donor agencies, implementing partners, governments, internship providers, amongst others. 
  • Collaborate with the partnerships, communications, strategy and integrated marketing teams to develop effective Program branding and visibility strategies locally and globally.

Advocacy

  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, policymakers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to advance the KCBF education agenda.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and events related to education.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations and coalitions to amplify advocacy efforts and maximize impact.
  • Monitor legislative and policy developments related to education and provide analysis and recommendations to inform advocacy strategies.
  • Develop advocacy materials, including policy briefs, fact sheets, and presentations, to support advocacy campaigns and outreach efforts.
  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in education advocacy and incorporate learnings into programmatic efforts.

Budgeting and Financial Management: 

  • Be responsible for overall budgeting and budget management for the Program. 
  • In close collaboration with peers, carry out proactive fundraising to ensure that the Program is adequately resourced. 

Reporting and Evaluation: 

  • Be responsible for effective data management for the Program. 
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on the Program performance, impact, and outcomes. 
  • Prepare regular reports on program performance, impact and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders including success stories and lessons learnt. 
  • Engage with the Bank’s business functions to map out shared-value opportunities and returns accruing from the Program.

People Management

  • Provide leadership to the team of staff working on the Program including their talent development and performance management.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education/Community Development/Strategic Management/Related Field.
  • Professional Qualifications Credit Certifications/Relationship Management or related field is desired.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • 6 years education program / scholarship management
  • 5 years in Community mobilization & stakeholder engagement
  • 5 years working with education stakeholders in Public & Private sectors.
  • 4 years in Program design and development.
  • 4 years in relationship management
  • 3 years in budget & financial management
  • 5 years in youth/children mentorship
  • 5 years in resource mobilization & donor management
  • 3 years in People management
