JOB SUMMARY
As a Barista at JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi, you will be responsible for providing exceptional coffee and beverage service to guests. You will create and serve a variety of coffee drinks and other beverages while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. This position does not involve management responsibilities.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Beverage Preparation and Service:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of all beverages served.
- Provide recommendations to guests based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee preparation station and equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
Customer Service:
- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take and process customer orders promptly and accurately.
- Address customer concerns and complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Provide information about menu items and make suggestions when necessary.
- Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Teamwork:
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and smooth operation of the coffee bar.
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring product levels.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors to coordinate tasks and provide updates.
- Support and assist colleagues during busy periods or when needed.
