Job Description:
As a Wait Staff member at Java House, your role is to provide excellent customer service in a clean and welcoming environment. Your key responsibilities include:
- Greeting and escorting customers to their tables.
- Presenting the menu and providing detailed information about the dishes.
- Setting up tables with linens, silverware, and glasses.
- Informing customers about the day’s specials and making menu recommendations.
- Taking accurate food and drink orders using a POS ordering system.
- Communicating order details to the kitchen staff.
- Serving food and beverages to customers.
- Checking dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and reporting any issues.
- Maintaining a tidy dining area and arranging table settings.
- Delivering checks and collecting bill payments.
- Assisting with clearing dirty plates, glasses, and silverware.
- Collaborating with restaurant staff to review daily specials and menu changes.
- Adhering to health department regulations.
- Providing exceptional customer service to ensure guest satisfaction.
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven work experience as a Wait staff.
- Familiarity with cash registers and ordering information systems.
- Basic math skills.
- Attentiveness and patience when dealing with customers.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Active listening and effective communication skills.
- Team spirit and willingness to collaborate.
- Flexibility to work in shifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum grade of C+.
- Food safety training is a plus.
