The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Community Engagement Intern for Spring 2025 in Silver Spring, MD. This internship is an exciting opportunity to contribute to humanitarian efforts by fostering connections between the IRC and the local community, enhancing support for refugees.
As a Community Engagement Intern, you will work closely with the Community Engagement Specialist to coordinate volunteer programs and outreach initiatives. Your responsibilities will include recruiting volunteer groups for the Refugee Welcome Home Project, planning community recognition events, and creating engaging content for various platforms. You’ll also track partnerships and coordinate in-kind donation opportunities.
This role is perfect for individuals passionate about immigration and serving others, providing hands-on experience in community development and refugee support. You will gain valuable insights into resettlement programs, cross-cultural communication, and data reporting requirements.
