Save the Children Kenya is excited to announce its Internship Opportunities for Cohort 1 of 2025. As part of its commitment to empowering young professionals, Save the Children offers an engaging internship program aimed at developing skills in humanitarian and developmental fields.
The organization has been a vital presence in Kenya since the 1950s, supporting children’s well-being in areas like child poverty, health and nutrition, education, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), and child protection. This internship provides hands-on experience across various regions, including Nairobi, Dadaab refugee camps, and counties like Garissa, Mandera, Turkana, and Wajir.
Internship Roles
Interns will join specific departments, engaging in responsibilities relevant to each function:
- Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) Intern – Assist in coordinating work plans and research, focusing on program development and quality under Save the Children Kenya and Madagascar Country Office.
- Technology for Development (T4D) Intern – Provide technical IT support and assist with innovative IT solutions for the Kenya Country Office.
- Knowledge Management and Learning Intern – Help implement knowledge management strategies and support evaluation, research, and learning initiatives.
- Supply Chain Intern – Aid in logistics, asset management, and procurement for Nairobi Country Office and field offices.
- Safety & Security Intern – Support safety and security coordination.
- Health Intern – Contribute to health initiatives for children and pregnant women in Turkana and Nairobi.
- Tech Hub Intern – Work with the Nairobi Tech Hub to develop and maintain applications for global use.
- IT Intern – Provide IT support for Nairobi and field offices.
- Finance Intern – Assist with financial tasks, including timely processing of payables and liabilities.
- HR & Administration Intern – Support recruitment, employee documentation, and general office operations.
