The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is pleased to announce several exciting internship opportunities for MSc Graduate Fellows.
These internships are designed to provide hands-on research experience in various aspects of livestock and agricultural research. The selected candidates will work alongside experienced researchers and contribute to impactful projects aimed at improving livestock health and productivity in Kenya.
Opportunities Available:
- ILRI MSc Graduate Fellowship – Antimicrobial Resistance in Bacteria Isolated from Carcasses in Slaughterhouses in Western Kenya Location: Nairobi, Kenya Details: This fellowship will focus on investigating antimicrobial resistance in bacteria isolated from carcasses in slaughterhouses located in western Kenya.
- The successful candidate will conduct fieldwork, collect samples, and perform laboratory analyses to understand the prevalence and patterns of antimicrobial resistance, providing critical insights for public health and food safety.
- ILRI MSc Graduate Fellowship: Cross-Sectional Study of Mastitis in Dairy Cattle in Nandi County Location: Nairobi, Kenya Details: This fellowship involves conducting a cross-sectional study of mastitis in dairy cattle in Nandi County. The fellow will engage in field research, collect data, and analyze samples to assess the prevalence, causes, and economic impact of mastitis on dairy farming. The findings will contribute to developing effective control and prevention strategies for mastitis in the region.
