International Centre for Reproductive Health Kenya (ICRHK) is a Kenya-based Non-Governmental organization. ICRHK conducts research and intervention projects in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). Some of the specific areas of focus for ICRHK include HIV/STI prevention and treatment, addressing Sexual and Gender-based violence (GBV), improving Maternal and Child Health, promoting Family Planning, and addressing the needs of Adolescents in terms of Sexual and Reproductive Health through research.

We intend to hire a consultant/consultancy firm who will work in collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor as well as our in-house Qualitative Research experts to develop a qualitative research tool kit comprising of standard materials that can be used to guide and support the planning, conducting, and analysis of qualitative research.

Requirements

  • A master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant field such as sociology, anthropology, psychology, public health, or a related social science.
  • In-depth knowledge of qualitative research methodologies and analysis techniques including but not limited to grounded theory, phenomenology, narrative, ethnography, and case studies.
  • Previous experience working in public health research, which provides an understanding of the context and specific challenges related to the research.
  • Proficiency in developing research tools, including interview guides, focus group protocols, and surveys tailored for qualitative data collection.
  • Evidence of developing a qualitative research tool kit as outlined above.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely in training materials and guidelines.
  • Understanding of ethical considerations in qualitative research, including obtaining informed consent, protecting participant confidentiality, and addressing potential biases.
