The role holder is responsible for overall IT Infrastructure operations. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas; particularly network infrastructure, Server infrastructure, LAN support, data communications and telecommunications systems. In collaboration with external vendors, system experts and information security experts the role holder will schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Principle Accountabilities
- Provide support to Local and Wide Area Network users within multi-services platforms
- Monitor System Performance of the core Network, routers and WAN links to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Reviews IT infrastructure policies regularly to ensure compliance with guidelines
- Reviews network configuration and plans cost-effective upgrades to keep up with changing technology, growth of bank, and needs of banks components;
- Build a Network architectural framework that is applicable throughout the organization
- Evaluation and selection of new Networking technology to support new products and services such as Smart Cards, ATMs, Electronic Banking, Mobile Banking etc. for the bank.
- Direct and supervises the work of personnel and/or contractors assigned to the department, in terms of network equipment and software installation, systems support and maintenance and organizes prompt network support by assigning the available technical resources while exercising quality assurance functions;
- Develop Maintain and Review SLA’s with external vendors that provide the Bank with solutions and ensure that they are able to deliver the SLA the Bank has agreed with.
- Specification, selection, and procurement of infrastructure hardware and software
- Protect and enhance the life of IT assets of the Bank, including hardware maintenance
- Manage a team of outsourced Support vendors based on both head office as well as regional offices for support of the bank’s hardware platform
- Coordinate outsourced vendors for PCs, Network equipment, UPS systems and require regular maintenance is carried out as appropriate.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure an up to date inventory of Banks equipment is kept and maintained
- Coordinate and work closely with the bank’s Property administration and ensure proper storage and disposal of IT equipment after they are declared obsolete.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- ITIL Foundation, Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA & CCDA, Huawei HCNA, Azure Certification, and Linux.
Experience
- Six years’ experience in network and server infrastructure support in medium to large organizations.
- Working experience in a bank or other financial services organization would be an added advantage.
- Experience in vendor management is critical
