We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Nairobi. Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, this role provides an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to implement and uphold international quality standards that meet and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
As the Quality Assurance Manager, your primary duties will include:
- Quality Systems Implementation:Â Spearhead the development and execution of quality management systems, policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with international standards.
- Strategic Planning:Â Formulate and implement QA strategies that align with business objectives.
- Technical Review:Â Analyze and provide technical advice on raw material, packaging material, and finished product test reports, as well as trade returns.
- Customer Feedback Management:Â Address QA-related customer complaints, maintain a complaints register, and propose improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Root Cause Analysis:Â Investigate product non-conformities and complaints, implement corrective actions, and ensure follow-up for effectiveness.
- Process Evaluation:Â Regularly review production processes and implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks and improve outcomes.
- Training Initiatives:Â Conduct training needs assessments and oversee the development and implementation of QA training programs.
- Policy and Procedure Development:Â Draft, review, and ensure alignment of policies and standard operating procedures with ISO standards and quality management systems.
- Data-Driven Decision Making:Â Use data to analyze defect patterns, optimize processes, and improve product performance.
- Documentation and Systems Management:Â Establish and maintain robust documentation and management systems, including version control and audit trails.
- Compliance and GMP:Â Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) through regular training, audits, and monitoring activities.
- Team Management:Â Supervise and continuously train QA staff, ensuring adherence to procedures and accurate testing.
- Audit Implementation:Â Oversee timely resolution of QA audit findings and ensure ongoing compliance with required standards.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering (preferred).
- Additional qualifications in quality assurance will be an added advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years as a QA Manager in the FMCG sector.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems and ISO 22716:2007 – Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
